Temperature - charge at 1235oC, raise to 1135oC for 8 hours or until
bubbles are no longer larger than a pinhead, reduce to 1080-1120oC;

note due to the extreme shortage of 24% lead cullet, and the change
in policy at Philips in only producing lead based pellets twice a
year - we are taking orders and deposits now for 24% lead pellet deliveries in
October 2008 onwards from new customers - current customers need
to check that we have allocated material for you.

KGLASS
- Nuggets
Highly
brilliant lead free "crystal" - containing approx 3%
barium and 2% zinc to give weight and polishing properties. Made
specifically as a pre-melted glass for studios (not a waste stream).
Uses up to 30% less fuel than batch, 10% less than pellets, No fumes
and so you get 15 - 20% more finished glass out of a ton than batch
or batch pellets.
The
glass is designed to have a slightly blue tint finish - if you are
making thicker pieces we can supply cerium oxide (not polishing
grade) to oxidise the blue away
K
Glass: Annealing Point 481 - 510oC; Softening Point 668oC; Working
Temperature 945oC; Suggested Melting Temperature - charge at 1280oC
until fully melted in, reduce to 1150oC until morning - can melt at
1100oC over 48 hours; Coefficient of Expansion 97.5 to 99 (10-6K-1);
we recommend not melting higher than 1280oC and for the flames not
to touch the surface.
