Nickelite BlowpipesP
Series The
new "P" series pipes are now the standard for production shops
everywhere. These tools are unsurpassed in user comfort, strength and longevity.
The exceptionally long head length allows these tools to be routinely used in
severe deep heating operations, without developing weld cracking or scale
problems. The "P" series blowpipe head utilizes a high temperature
alloy superior to any grade of stainless steel. This material has very low
thermal conductivity and is not damaged by quenching in water. The low thermal
conductivity has an additional benefit of sapping less heat from the moile area.
This has a tendency of allowing the neck of a work piece to blow out thinner,
and can save the glassblower from "tweezing out" the lip and cutting
off the excess, saving valuable time. Blowpipes are available with naval brass
or plastic mouthpieces. The knurled grip is standard for tools with a diameter
above 1/2", tools can be made without knurling for those who prefer. XB
Series
The
"XB" series blowpipes offer the user a finer than usual quality tool
for a very competitive price. The heads are made of 310 stainless steel and the
tubing is a .065" wall thickness, high-grade stainless alloy. These tools
are lightweight and many people are astonished how strong they are. Most other
lightweight tools are inadequate in strength. This is not the case with any
Nickelite TM. tool. The "XB" series tools are a pleasure to use. The
"balance engineering" is felt the moment the tool is picked up.
Blowpipes are available with naval brass or plastic mouthpieces. The knurled
grip is standard for tools with a diameter above 1/2", tools can be made
without knurling for those who prefer. XTB
Series
The
"XTB" series blowpipes are an excellent design for large work pieces.
All models have a brass counterweight handle. Utilizing the same high grade
tubing as the "XB" series blowpipes and a longer head length, these
tools can handle the heavy weight of large work pieces, without weighing a ton!
Using one of the "XTB" series blowpipes, the glassblower will be able
to work objects larger than before, and with greater ease. The "XTB"
series tools utilize the same head material as the new "P" series
blowpipes. The head material is a high temperature alloy, which has very low
thermal conductivity. This has the benefit of sapping less heat from the moile
area. The head material is also more scale resistant than any grade of stainless
steel, and can withstand the thermal shock of liquid quenching. Blowpipes are
available with naval brass or plastic mouthpieces. The knurled grip is standard
for tools with a diameter above 1/2", tools can be made without knurling
for those who prefer. EB

C.R.
Machine has designed an economy tool line to accommodate glassblowers with a
tight budget without sacrificing quality. These economy tools will meet or
exceed the quality of other tool manufacturers. These
tools retain the attributes you’ve come to expect from C.R. Machine; tools
that are strong, stay straight, and have good scale resistance. The shafting is
the same high grade stainless material as the Nickelite™ tools, but in
economical pipe form instead of the more expensive tubing. The pipe’s slightly
heavier wall thickness allows for a shorter, more conventional head length,
allowing us to further reduce costs. The blowpipe heads utilize type 309
stainless steel. This type of stainless steel maintains good scale resistance
and has an excellent value for money. The punty heads utilize type 316 stainless
steel. The economy tools include a polypropylene mouthpiece, black rubber grip, and a special low profile brass stop collar.

Punties
U
Series
The
"U" prefix stands for utility. These are basic, inexpensive solid rods
with one end rounded, and the other tapered slightly. They can be used for bits
or even as a transfer punty for goblet work. SR
Series
The
"SR" prefix stands for "solid rod". These differ from the
"U" series tools in that there is a knurled brass handle fitted to the
end and they do not have a tapered end. They are multi-purpose tools that can be
used as punties or bit rods. LP
Series
The
"LP" prefix stands for light punty. These tools have a superb
"feel" for transferring blown work. Since the head length of these
tools is only 5 inches long, they are not recommended for heavy duty, deep
heating operations. The shorter head length simplifies construction by omitting
the need for back-drilling the head for lightening purposes. The lower price
reflects this, and makes these tools excellent value for money. HDP
Puntys
The
"HDP" prefix stands for heavy-duty punty. These tools are designed to
be able to handle anything from simple blown work to high heat operations like
cane making and solid sculpting. High-grade .065" wall tubing and long head
length allow these tools to take punishment with a level of refinement only
found in a Nickelite™ tool. EP
